INDEPENDENCE WOMEN & COED TOURNAMENT RULES
All games will be 30 minute halves, with exception of the finals, which will be 45 minute halves, unless both team captains agree to play 30 minute halves.
Bring to check in: 6 copies of your roster, player cards for each player participating, & travel permit if not affiliated with Texas South Association.

PLAYING RULES
- All players, except the goalie, must have a number on the back of their jersey.
- players may play with 1 women’s team & 1 coed team only
- Each team may carry 5 guest players
- No jewelry, with the exception of a smooth wedding band, is allowed.
- All teams should have an Alternate jersey. If there is not an alternate jersey, pennies will be allowed.
- Shin guards are mandatory.
- A red carded coach or player must sit out the following game of the tournament and pay a $20.00 fine.
Coed Rules
- To start a game there must be 7 players including the goalie. A team can start with 1 female 5 males, and a goalie (male or female). A team may never have more than 5 males on the field, but there can be more females.
- If a male or female gets red carded the team must play 1 female or 1 male short, No player red carded may be replaced.
- No slide tackles are allowed. However the goalie may slide to get the ball.
- Drop ball will be taken by 2 females.
- Offensive goals: Men = 1 point Women := 2 points
- Maximum number of goals scored by any one male player is 2 for a total of 2 points.
- No limit on goals scored by a female.
- Penalty kicks may be taken by a female or male player.
- A female score counts as 2: points. A male score counts as 1 point.In case of a deflection: the last offensive player will determine the number of points but if a player scores a goal on their own team, the goal will count as 1 point regardless of who deflects the ball in.
- Penalty kicks on overtime: goal made by a female or male player will count as 1 point. There must be a minimum of 2 females out of the 5 taking penalty kicks.
Point System For All Divisions
- Win – 6 Points
- Tie – 3 Points
- Shut out – 1 Point
- Goals Scored – 1 Ea (Maximum of 3)
- Max Points / Game – 10
- Forfeit Win – 9 Pts (10 min grace period before forfeit.
- If a game is terminated at 1/2 time score at that time stands.
Tie Breaker
- Head to Head
- Goal differential (scored – against) max 3 goals
- Fewest Goals against advances max 3 goals
- Coin Toss
- Semi-final and Final game:
- In case of tie after regulation time, penalty kicks will be taken.
IN CASE OF A RAIN OUT
Tournament may be delayed, cancelled, due to inclement weather. Team reps will receive a check in the mail for registration fees minus tournament expenses.
DECISIONS
The WSA Board will have the final word in all disputes and decisions.
NO PROTESTS WILL BE ALLOWED ON ANY GROUND OR BASIS.
